As a national education consultant for Big Ideas Learning over the past few years, I've developed a passion to help students in math education. I was able to speak with leaders in legislation, department of education and in school districts across the nation. They informed me that there has been a lack of equitable math practices in the classroom. Further, students of color needed more representation in the books so they could feel connected to math.
